SOCOMPA It is located approx. 8 km northeast of the homonymous station of the Salta - Socompa Railroad, in the Department of Los Andes. It is a mountain of greater ancestral significance, scenic beauty, and being able to enjoy the incredible landscapes that NORTH ARGENTINE offers us. And it also indicates the limit with the neighboring Republic of Chile.
We propose you in this outing to know its beauty and live a different & unforgettable adventure with a series of ascents tekking with the idea of ​​acclimatizing for our main objective.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Ticara / Hornocales / Tilcara.
Transfer of 3 hours and Trekking of 6 hours at 3,900mts. and return to Tilcara at 2,450mts
(BXL) Night in Tilcara.

Day 2: Tilcara / San Antonio de los Cobres:
Transfer of 4 hours and trekking to 4450mts 3 hours duration On this day there is activity and transfer.
(BXL) Night in S. A. de los Cobres.

Day 3: Trekking 5000mts:
Trekking and ascent to the Volcano 5.000mts 4 hours approx. and transfer to Tolar Grande 3 hours.
(BXL) Night in Tolar Grande.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day:
Acclimatization Trek to Cerro Macon 5611mts and then return to the camp.
(BXL) Night in Tolar Grande.

Day 5: Tolar Grande / Socompa:
Transfer on this day there is no physical activity that will be a nice day to enjoy the Andes of the Province of Salta
(B: BXL: M: C) Night in Refigio de Socompa.

Day 6: Trekking to Camp I:
The ascent to field 1 begins at 5500 meters. carrying backpacks with the personal equipment of each one and the water to consume during two days including dinner and breakfast while camping. Depending on the physical condition, this day will be approximately 8 or 9 hours.

Day 7: Attack on the Summit:
We leave the camp and with light equipment we will attempt the summit at 60.50 meters.
and then descend to disarm the high camp and continue descending to the base camp: the refuge

Day 8: Socompa / Salta:
Transfers we pass through Salar de Arizaro Tolar Grande where we have lunch and continue to San Antonio de los Cobre to Merendar and then Cross the Quebrada del Toro and arrive in Salta 20 hours approx. (D; BXL)

Notes: 1 or 2 more days should be anticipated either due to weather issues or necessary for acclimatization.

The Role of Guides:
The Guides' work involves leading the group and supervising the needs of each of the clients, permanently ensuring safety and trying to maximize the chances of success in the Expedition.They will also be in charge of deciding, or modifying the itinerary or suspending any activity for any weather or other cause, justifying in favor of the safety of the group members.
